Even retracting the slats would not increase the cruise very much. Considering that the cruise speed is 2-1/2 times the stall speed, this is not bad at all.

Yeap, my Rotax 582 weights even less than Chris Wilsons - cause Chris has the add on after muffler and intake silencer and mine is stock - And I pulled 350 pounds, verses a stock 503 on a dominator - Mike Bantums Ultrawhite - which only pulled 260 pounds.
